Sunday morning we left Sturgeon Falls heading to South Algonquin, Root RV park in Harcourt, Ontario. After getting setup at the RV park, we drove into Bancroft to get the lay of the land and make plans for Monday. We had lunch at a little Chinese restaurant: The Pine Yard. Food was just ok. The building was old and smelled of wet rotting wood. If in Bancroft late on a Sunday looking to eat the only other choice is McDonald's. Enough said.

This weekend were travel days. We're headed to Bancroft, Ontario in search of crystals. On Saturday we left Sault Ste Marie, drove 191 miles and stopped for the night at Sturgeon Falls KOA.

Happy Birthday USA from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada!
Today we explored the north shore of Lake Superior ( just a short part ). G maps found a place called Stone Beach ; what better place to look for stones. The first stop was for coffee at the Agawa Esso station/gift shop/grocery store,clothing retailer/ butcher shop/fish monger. Not much for shopping on the north shore. They did have decaf but we had to wait for the beans to be ground and a pot to be made " feel free to shop while waiting".
Stone beach was assassinated advertised: not a grain of sand in sight. Spent most of the morning combing the beach for agates and Petosky stones. Still no Petosky stones...we continued west on the Trans Canada highway (Rt 17). Highway = 2 lanes with passing every 5 miles.
