Today we explored the north shore of Lake Superior ( just a short part ). G maps found a place called Stone Beach ; what better place to look for stones. The first stop was for coffee at the Agawa Esso station/gift shop/grocery store, clothing retailer/ butcher shop/fish monger. Not much for shopping on the north shore. They did have decaf but we had to wait for the beans to be ground and a pot to be made " feel free to shop while waiting".
Stone beach was assassinated advertised: not a grain of sand in sight. Spent most of the morning combing the beach for agates and Petosky stones. Still no Petosky stones...we continued west on the Trans Canada highway (Rt 17). Highway = 2 lanes with passing every 5 miles.
