July 1 Friday (Canada Day)

7:16 AM 55°  Miles travelled 5,025
Toad River Lodge
Alaska Highway. Low clouds
We've traveled far enough west to have again found the Rockies. This morning the bears are out. 3 small black bears ( no all together). We figure these are teen recently separated from their mommas.
Just north of Muncho Lake we encountered a couple bull wood bison. These are the same bison as on the cartoons that can hide behind trees 🙃🤪
The bulls travel separate from rhe herd which is made up of cows and young children bison.
The rocks in this area are sedimentary as 75 MYA this area was ocean floor.
Arrived at Contact, Yukon Territory (YT) ar 11:38 AM. From this point we straddle the BC/YT border until finally staying in YT at Watson Lake.Watson Lake is the half way point on the Highway. We continue on until we reach Teslin. We met the might Yukon River and the first campground is under water. Each night we had thunder storms. No fishing because all the access points are close 😩
We find a Yukon Government Campground further up the road.
Note: 1) mosquitoes have hatched and are just shy of hummingbird size and they attack in squadrons
Note 2: if you're looking to leave the wired world behind we've  found it. No cell; no internet; and today we lost satellite radio.
I tried to get Bob to sing "She'll be coming round the mountsin" like when we were kids but he just laughed and started with 100 bottles of beer.🤪🤪🤪
